Earning a reputation as the "Andersonville of the North," it was the temporary home to more than 33,000 Confederate prisoners during the Civil War. A brief ferry ride required to Pea Patch Island, where living-history programs are offered during the season. Service available to nearby Fort Mott.

Civil War-era, 20-acre plantation owned by the Seaford Historical Society and featuring a brick, Italian Villa-style mansion (c.1859), granary, carriage house, barns, corn crib, ham house, restored honeymoon cottage and Delaware's only documented log slave quarters.
